J. Thomas Simms, III, CPA, CFE
Managing Partner
Mr. Simms is a graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge where he earned his B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. Upon leaving LSU, he began his public accounting career with the New Orleans office of Arthur Young. After three years with AY, Simms joined Roberts, Cherry and Company in Shreveport as a Senior Auditor. During which time, he became a CPA after passing all parts of the exam at the same time. In 1989, he became a shareholder with Roberts, Cherry.
During his career in public accounting, Simms has focused on auditing and accounting, including specializations in insurance companies, group self insurance funds, construction contractors, federally funded non profits, other non profits, manufacturing, automobile dealerships, and retail industry clients. He was awarded the CFE designation in 2000.
Mr. Simms has special expertise in the peer review process. He has participated in and Team Captained jobs all across the country since 1986. He has been a member of the State Society Peer Review Committee for the past seven years. He is currently serving as the Chairman of the committee for a second year.
Along with his wife, Melinda, and their two children, the Simms family is actively involved in Loyola College Preparatory School and St Joseph’s church and school.
